Military Overseas Voter Empowerment (MOVE) Act
The Uniformed and Overseas Citizens Absentee Voting Act (UOCAVA) protects the right of service members to vote in federal elections regardless of where they are stationed.
In 2009, Congress passed the Military and Overseas Voter Empowerment (MOVE) Act to provide greater voting protections for service members, their families, and overseas citizens. The Act requires states to transmit validly requested absentee ballots to UOCAVA voters no later than 45 days before a federal election.
We are proud of our MOVE Act application which exceeds all functionality of the Move Act mandates and can integrate with statewide voter registration systems as a subsystem with minimal interface points. Specifically, the Catalyst-created MOVE Act (CCG-MOVE) application:
- Allows overseas citizens to request voter registration and absentee ballot applications electronically.
- Allows overseas citizens to keep in contact with local election officials.
- Allows overseas citizens to track the status of their voter registration application and ballot.
- Seamlessly integrates into third-party election management systems for integrated communications and data.
CCG-MOVE...Giving Americans abroad more time to vote and have their ballots counted.
