Tim Smith, Director of Technical Services
Mr. Tim Smith is the Director of Technical Services for Catalyst Consulting Group. Mr. Smith has over 15 years of general business, project management, and technical consulting experience in both the public and private sectors. Mr. Smith specializes in project management as it relates to infrastructure solutions involving both systems and network based components. Mr. Smith’s experience includes:
- Project manager of a $25 million, multi-year engagement entailing the replacement and upgrade of all hardwired and wireless network infrastructure components at over 100 schools.
- Project manager of a data hub project that was designed to electronically transmit precinct-by-precinct election results directly from 110 local election authorities to the Board of Elections and merge that data with data collected from other data sources to form a complete statewide report on elections activity.
- Technical project manager responsible for the management of a $250 million IT project portfolio including all current and future information technology projects in the areas of transit operations, administrative systems, enterprise technical services, and revenue equipment systems.
- Project manager of an enterprise data storage solution project that required the development of requirements for an enterprise-wide network storage solution and a strategy for reorganization of production data storage, backup procedures, and disaster recovery capabilities.
- Infrastructure lead on two large scale elections projects associated with implementing a statewide voter registration system within the State of Illinois and the State of California.
Mr. Smith provides a unique blend of “real-world” technical experience with an organized and detailed management approach to IT infrastructure support, maintenance, design, and IT governance and operations.
